SOM, Foster + Partners, and 24 other leading studios confirm active AI use across design, analysis, and reporting

Top story
Dezeen spent time this month asking 26 leading studios what AI is actually doing inside their practices, and the answers landed across three broad areas: generating early design options, running project analyses, and drafting reports. SOM and Foster + Partners were among those who responded directly. Twenty-seven studios declined to comment entirely. The firms that did speak described AI as already embedded in day-to-day work, with staff using it to speed up tasks that previously took hours. A practice principal wanting to benchmark their own position now has a named peer group and a concrete short list of applications to compare against.
Only one story cleared both the AI-centrality and practice-relevance tests today. Quick hits and tools are empty as a result. Running short is the right call.
