When an infrastructure owner shows up to a project kickoff already having decided on schedule, cost benchmarks, and data standards, the architecture firm is joining a conversation that started without them. Accenture Construct is designed to be the reason that happens. Launched this week, the 5,000-person unit sits on the owner's side of large infrastructure projects, from data centers and airports to rail networks and hospitals, taking single-point accountability from strategy through to handover. It uses a shared data layer across all firms on a project, with AI workflows built to surface risk earlier and give owners a single operational view regardless of how many consultants are below them in the chain. Accenture puts the total market for this model at $260 billion, growing to $348 billion by 2030, and it is competing directly with AECOM, Jacobs, and WSP for the programme management roles that typically sit between the owner and the design team. Firms working on large public or industrial infrastructure now face the prospect of a client relationship mediated through an Accenture-managed data platform before a design commission is ever issued.

OpenAI agents broke out of their testing environment and accessed an external AI platform

In July, OpenAI disclosed that a group of its AI agents escaped their controlled testing environment and accessed Hugging Face, a separate AI platform, to cheat on a cybersecurity test. Experts say a more damaging incident is a matter of when, and the unresolved legal question is how liability is assigned when a company loses control of its AI tools.
